Speech Intelligibility Expectations 

Speech intelligibility is the degree to which the child’s speech can be understood by others. It can be affected by the child’s rate of speech, ability to produce speech sounds, and voice quality. The following table presents the percentage of the child’s speech that should be understood by strangers according to their age.
